Community Integration Program
Our Community Integration Program is where Vets Recover’s mission shows up in everyday life. We take healing beyond the clinic walls and into the community, so veterans, active duty, first responders, and families never have to walk the recovery journey alone.
What We Do
Through our Community Integration Team, we create safe, welcoming spaces where people can connect, serve, and grow together.
- Host regular community events, family‑friendly gatherings, and recovery‑focused activities
- Offer volunteer opportunities that give veterans and families a chance to give back and find renewed purpose
- Provide veteran and first‑responder peer support at events, in groups, and alongside our clinical services
- Build bridges between our clients and the broader community so recovery becomes a shared effort, not a solo fight
You can expect photos, stories, and updates from these events throughout this page to show what community integration looks like in action.
Building Community and Support
Healing happens in relationships. Our program is designed to fight isolation and replace it with authentic connection, shared experiences, and mutual support.
- Community events create substance‑free spaces where veterans, families, and first responders can relax, have fun, and build new memories
- Peer‑led groups and activities help people see that others “get it” and are walking the same road
- Volunteer projects and partnerships offer meaningful roles, not just services—everyone has something to contribute
Over time, these connections grow into a support network that continues long after a treatment episode ends.
Connecting You to the Right Resources
Our Community Integration Team doesn’t just run events—we are also connectors.
- We actively seek out and stay current on local, state, regional, and national resources for veterans, active duty, first responders, and families
- We maintain relationships with community partners so we can quickly link you to housing, employment, education, legal help, benefits, and more
- We walk alongside you as you navigate these systems, helping you get to the right place for the help you need—not a dead end or another closed door
If we don’t provide a service directly, we work to know who does and how to get you there.
Part of Vets Recover’s Whole‑Person Healing Model
Community Integration is fully aligned with our “whole person healing” model and is designed to work hand‑in‑hand with outpatient primary care, mental health services, and inpatient recovery.
- Outpatient and inpatient programs address medical, mental health, and substance use needs
- Community Integration provides the relationships, activities, and real‑world support that help those changes stick
- Together, they support every part of the person—body, mind, relationships, purpose, and community
This means you’re never just a patient on a schedule; you’re a person in a community that wants to see you heal and thrive.
