Brandon Peters - US Navy
Program Coordinator, Helping 2 Overcome Program
Brandon Peters serves as the Program Coordinator for the Helping 2 Overcome (H2O) Program at Vets Recover, where he combines his extensive military background and passion for underwater exploration to help veterans heal through connection and adventure. A Certified Peer Support Specialist for the state of Alabama, Brandon is a seven-year veteran of the United States Navy, where he served in Iraq and Afghanistan as part of a combat search and rescue team.
With over two decades of scuba diving experience, Brandon brings both technical expertise and deep empathy to his work. His firsthand understanding of the challenges veterans and their families face—whether related to mental health, substance use, or the reintegration process—drives his commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for recovery and growth.
At Vets Recover, Brandon leads the Helping 2 Overcome SCUBA Program as Course Director, offering veterans transformative experiences that build trust, resilience, and community through diving. He also serves as a Lead Community Peer Support Specialist for Outdoor Recreational Activities within Vets Recover’s Community Integration Team, fostering camaraderie, confidence, and healing through shared outdoor experiences.
